For perfect porridge you need 1 part oats to 2 1/2 parts milk (or water). 50g of oats makes roughly one adult serving of porridge. It helps if you have a cup or glass which fits 50g of oats to speed things up in the morning.

A great tip is to soak the oats in the milk for around 10 minutes before cooking for a smoother porridge. I stir frozen raspberries into my steaming porridge to help cool it down. My kids, have mashed banana in their porridge every day which sweetens it naturally.
