Easy Homemade Tartare Sauce

Here's a really easy recipe for yummy Homemade Tartare Sauce. It's just a case of mixing some chopped capers, gherkins and parsley with seasoning and mayonnaise, but it tastes really good with fish and chips. Much better than the jarred stuff. 

Blitz everything in a food processor to save time chopping. Homemade Tartare Sauce keeps in the fridge for a week, just give it a good stir before serving incase the mixture has separated.

Easy Homemade Tartare Sauce: Serves 4 - 6

*based on 4 servings using low fat mayonnaise

  • 200g low fat mayonnaise
  • 2-3 tbsps finely chopped capers
  • 2-3 tbsps finely chopped gherkins
  • 2-3 tbsps finely chopped parsley or Gourmet Garden parsley
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  1. Mix the mayonnaise, capers, gherkins and parsley together with a squeeze of lemon. Taste and add more lemon if you like. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep the homemade tartare sauce in the fridge until needed. Stir before serving.
