Hello I'm Filipa!
I've been married to the lovely Rich for 12 years. We have three beautiful boys - Joshua who is 7, Daniel who is 5 and little Isaac who is 6 months old. We also have a little girl who was sadly stillborn in 2014.
Welcome to my blog, Gourmet Mum. Please don't be fooled by the name, there's no actual gourmet recipes, just real food that real families can make and enjoy everyday. I started Gourmet Mum six years ago as a way of sharing easy, healthy family recipes with people who might some inspiration.
My dad is Portuguese which has a huge influence on my cooking style. I love fresh simple food, comforting family meals and homemade sweet treats. I have lots of easy budget recipes on the blog which I call Credit Munch meals because they cost £5 for 4 servings.
I'm a great believer in cooking with your kids and giving them little jobs to do in the kitchen. This means that my kitchen is usually an absolute mess. I like to make video recipes, which are usually more fun if the boys are involved.
In 2011 I was a finalist on the Channel 5 TV series Real Food Family Cook Off sponsored by Tesco, so I've had a bit of TV experience. I've also made webfilms with Phil Vickery for British Turkey and for a while I had a regular slot called 'Supper for £6' on The Paul Ross Show on BBC Radio Berkshire.
I have lots of turkey recipes on my blog because I'm an ambassador for British Turkey for the second year running. As well as coming up with new and exciting turkey recipes, I also get to make recipe videos with the fabulous Phil Vickery once in a while.
I've also won a couple of awards - Gourmet Garden UK Blogger of the Year 2013 - 2014 judged by Rosemary Shrager, and Candis Magazine Best Money Saving Blog 2013. I've also been shortlisted for a few other awards over the years.
I'm delighted to be working with Organix for the second year running on their No Junk Journey campaign.
I've worked with all sorts of brands over the past six years. I'm flexible, experienced and friendly. Please get in touch if you would like to work with me.
If you do try any recipes, please leave comments, I love comments!
Thanks for stopping by!
P.P.S. The prices of all my recipes were all correct at the time of publishing, I'm sorry if they are a little out now.
